Welcome to my page everyone! I think I’ll start with introducing myself – I’m Monika and I originally come from Poland but live in the UK for a while now. I’ve had quite an eventful life so far, lots of drama, problems, ups and downs and I have to admit I’ve always struggled to find my way of dealing with these things. I’m not going to lie and say what most writers would say which is ‘Writing has been my passion forever blah blah blah…’. No, my adventure with writing only started few years ago. In fact I used to absolutely hate it – every essay I’ve had to write during my school years was a nightmare to me. I was quite good at it as I’ve always had amazing ability to just go on and on about things and so I did on paper. But honestly – I have NOT enjoyed it. All of the sudden it has changed. And I only discovered my love for writing as I was basically forced to it by a random choice of elective module at university. I have no idea why I picked Poetry, probably because i though it’d be easy to pass without much effort…. And I just realized I’m probably getting too much into detail, as this was supposed to be just few words, so I’m just gonna get to the point which is me falling in love with poetry from the very first assignment. And ever since then writing became a permanent part of my life and an escape from reality or way to find solutions to things that are bothering me. And I don’t mean just poetry. Travel logs, journals, essays, short stories, short opinionated pieces. You’ll see for yourself, that is if you decide to follow my blog 🙂 It is my first attempt to share my ‘work’ so I’m begging you guys – comment and share your opinion even if you’re not impressed. If I suck I want to know about it :)) Thanks for attention and enjoy !!!
Well I haven’t gotten to your writing yet but your blog design is awesome and you are beautiful.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and I look forward to reading your pieces as well. So far I am impressed!
God, but I love how you write! It is comfy, easy, descriptive, leaving me having to read on, just to find out what’s next. Doesn’t matter if it is trivial or not, you draw me in. Great work.
Thank you for ‘Following’ me. I too, came to poetry late, only a few years ago. Before that had no opinion about it. Nothing. Amazing how things can change!
Good Luck!
Haha, I can definitely relate to writing not being an eternal passion; I still detest essays, and poetry was a late love, stealing in through an upper window at dusk, rather than being my faithful nurse from the cradle. Thank you so much for subscribing! 🙂
well, it was with you always, & you are now
thankz.!.. your page is awesome.. i love your poems.. i will read it promise.. ^^ god bless!
Keep up the good work

Hey Monika; great work so far – keep it up!
As an aside: while I’ve written poems for many years (I’m not old though – I turn 27 in November), only recently have I experimented with meter (i.e. styles other than free verse and prose); in that sense I can somewhat relate! 🙂
Hi Mon, you are doing alright. Everything improves by your interest be it writing or taking up a hobby. Best wishes and thanks for your visit,
Hi Monika, like the intensity of this “about” section, mixed with an easy-to-read style that engages the reader, the sense of honesty and humour shine through. I am just wondering what were the poems/who were the poets that got you “hooked” and so inspired you ?
Hi Monika! Thanks for stopping by to read my poetry. The design of your blog is lovely and you do a great job with your poetry.
Hi Monika, So nice to meet you. Thank You for liking my poem ‘The Call’ and for following my Blog. I have a passion for writing poetry. This has lasted fifty years. I like how you think. I hope you will see my imagination has no borders. At the moment I’m writing a play. Never been to university just like to find my own way of writing! Take Care. The Foureyed Poet.
Wow! Shall I call you Sista or Twisted? Any road, thank you for followin me. I wish you great success, not only here, but everywhere.
Just keep reading and writing and loving to read and to write and we’ll love to read your writing x
Aloha, thank you for visiting me. What poets to you like to read. I love Mary Oliver.
I also love a lot of the old beat poetry stuff. Have you ever read the journals of Anais Nin? They are amazing. There is a movie about her affair with the writer, Henry Miller, called Henry and June. It’s intense and erotic and intelligent all at the same time. I look forward to reading more of your work and wish you every thing good in this often cruel yet beautiful world.
